Unnatural #7 Single-channel digital video, 1 min 34 sec, looped
Finalist, Lethbridge Landscape Prize, 2022
This work is part of a series exploring how human spaces operate differently to natural spaces, and my own odd and awkward relationship with nature.
Judge’s comment
“Lisa’s video belies a perfect simplicity in its execution. Giving us a historical nod to the camera obscura’s reversal of nature in both the camera and the eye - she turns a highly traditional painterly viewpoint into a canvas that moves ever so slightly. Landscape and video are hard to mesh and this work does it perfectly.”
